Industrial Touch Screen

• Types: CTP/ RTP/OGS / SITO.
• Protection: IP rating depends on the tested assembled enclosure configuration. Confirm the rating and test report for the specific product.
• Surface Coatings: AG , AF , AR.
• EMI Protection: Reducing electromagnetic interference.
• Bonding Methods: OCA, OCR.
How to Choose an Industrial Touch Screen

Choose a touch solution according to the operating environment, input method, display structure and controller requirements. Screen size alone does not confirm mechanical or electrical compatibility.

Resistive or Projected Capacitive Touch

Resistive touch detects pressure and can support finger, stylus or gloved input, depending on the panel design. Projected capacitive touch supports multi-touch and gestures. Glove and wet operation depend on the sensor, cover glass, controller and system tuning. Confirm the required input method and validate the complete assembly under real operating conditions.

OCA or OCR Optical Bonding

OCA is supplied as an adhesive film, while OCR is applied as a liquid resin. The suitable process depends on the display and cover-glass geometry, bonding gap, materials, production process and service requirements. Confirm the proposed stack-up and bonding process for each project.

Available Structures and Surface Treatments

Selected configurations can be supplied with OGS or SITO sensor structures. AG, AF and AR surface treatments are also available for selected models. Availability, optical performance and process limits depend on the size, structure and project requirements. Please confirm the options for the specific model.

IP Rating and Test Configuration

An IP rating applies to the enclosure or assembly in the tested configuration. It does not automatically apply to a bare touch panel or cover glass. For an IP65 requirement, confirm the tested assembly, exposed surfaces, standard and test report. GB/T 4208-2017 and IEC 60529 are common references.

  • IP6X dust testing uses a talcum-powder test chamber. The test method, pressure conditions and duration depend on the enclosure and test setup.
  • IPX5 water-jet testing uses a 6.3 mm nozzle and a flow rate of 12.5 L/min plus or minus 5 percent. The enclosure is sprayed from all practicable directions at a distance of 2.5 to 3 m. Test duration is 1 minute per square metre of exposed surface, with a minimum of 3 minutes.

Confirm the actual test configuration and acceptance result in the test report. Do not infer an IP rating from a component specification alone.

Information for Compatibility Review
  • Display model and display specification
  • Mechanical drawing with outline, active and viewable areas
  • Touch-panel tail dimensions, exit direction and connector pinout
  • Controller interface, voltage and protocol requirements
  • Operating and storage temperatures, humidity and protection requirements
  • Cover-glass material, thickness, printing and surface-treatment requirements
  • Input requirements such as stylus, gloves, multi-touch or wet operation
  • Bonding method, target quantity and intended application

Final compatibility should be confirmed against the product drawing, electrical requirements and intended operating conditions. Please provide the relevant specifications for review.
