The occurrence of blurred screens on industrial LCD screens is indeed a headache, but don't worry, such problems usually have patterns to follow. Below, I have compiled five common causes and corresponding solutions for you, hoping to help you quickly locate and solve the problem.

Hardware connection issues

Loose wiring, poor contact, or interface oxidation are one of the most common causes of screen distortion, especially in industrial environments with high vibration.

Reason interpretation: The ribbon cable (such as LVDS cable) connecting the LCD screen and the main control board may become loose due to long-term vibration. In addition, if the device is in a humid environment, the wiring pins may short circuit due to condensation; Oxidation of interface pins can also affect signal transmission.

resolvent:

Re plug and unplug the ribbon cable: be sure to operate after turning off the power. Open the device, locate the screen cable, gently unplug and reinsert it, ensuring the lock is securely fastened.

Cleaning and protection: If oxidation or stains are found on the gold fingers of the wiring, they can be gently wiped with an eraser. For humid environments, it is recommended to apply 704 silicone gel at the cable interface for moisture-proof sealing.

Check the wiring: Observe whether the cable itself has obvious creases or fractures, and replace it with a new cable if necessary

Environmental interference and physical damage

Electromagnetic interference in industrial environments and physical damage to the screen itself can also directly cause screen distortion.

Reason interpretation:

Electromagnetic interference (EMI): The strong electromagnetic field generated by devices such as frequency converters and high-power motors may interfere with the transmission of screen signals, leading to image distortion.

Physical damage: Cracks, leakage, aging of the internal liquid crystal layer, and burning of the drive circuit on the screen due to external impact can cause abnormal display.

resolvent:

Enhance shielding and isolation: Ensure that the industrial computer is kept at a sufficient distance from interference sources (such as high-power motors) (recommended to be at least 1 meter). Use cables with better shielding performance and ensure good grounding of the equipment.

Assessment of damage: If the screen has cracks, leaks, or obvious bright/dark lines, it is usually necessary to replace the entire LCD screen module

Driver and configuration errors

Software level driver issues or configuration errors can also cause screen glitches.

Reason interpretation:

Abnormal graphics card driver: The driver version is outdated, incompatible with the system, or conflicts may cause display signal output errors.

Resolution/configuration error: The resolution set by the system exceeds the physical limit of the screen, or the physical resolution configuration mode of the industrial touch screen display is incorrect, which can cause screen distortion.

resolvent:

Update/rollback drivers: Visit the device manufacturer's official website to download and install the latest drivers. If the problem persists after the update, you can try entering safe mode, uninstalling the current driver, and installing a known stable old version.

Check display configuration: Adjust the resolution to the recommended screen value in the system settings. For industrial touch screens, please check the product manual to ensure that their physical resolution and other parameter configurations are correct.

Power and backlight system malfunction

Unstable power supply or abnormal backlight system can sometimes be misjudged as a splash screen.

Reason interpretation:

Unstable power supply: Aging or damage to the power adapter can cause unstable output voltage, which can affect the normal operation of the driving circuit and backlight system.

Backlight system malfunction: LED backlight strip or its driving circuit (inverter) is damaged, which may cause screen flickering or uneven brightness, sometimes resembling a splash screen.

resolvent:

Power supply testing: Use a multimeter to measure the output voltage of the power adapter to see if it meets the nominal value (such as 24V).

Check backlight: If the screen content is vaguely visible under strong light squinting, it may be a backlight issue. This situation usually requires professional personnel to inspect or replace the backlight components.

Mainboard and internal component failure

After excluding the common causes mentioned above, the problem may lie in the more core motherboards and components.

Reason interpretation:

Motherboard graphics card chip malfunction: The graphics card chip on the motherboard (whether independent or integrated) has virtual soldering, overheating damage, or quality problems, and cannot output signals normally.

Damage to other circuit components: aging or damage to timing control chips (TCON), capacitors, and other components on the driver board.

resolvent:

Contact professional maintenance: Such issues are usually beyond the scope of routine maintenance. It is recommended to contact equipment suppliers or professional repair service providers, who may use tools such as oscilloscopes to detect signals and repair or replace faulty motherboards.

I hope this guide can help you solve the problem. If the problem persists after trying the above steps, or if you need more help for specific brands and models, please feel free to let me know.
